Local teacher training

Dyslexia International delivers live training to any countries whose education authorities ask for it.

Francophone Belgium has been the leader in making such a request, with now over 2,000 educators trained in the Basics for teachers programme.

So far, thanks to the UNESCO Participation Programme, we have trained in Mali, GhanaBurkina Faso and Morocco.

These live training sessions are tailored to the needs of the education authority. For instance, francophone Belgium required extensive workshops as part of a larger training programme that lasted for months. This was delivered by Dr Vincent Goetry.

By comparison, Ghana requested a smaller-scale week-long intensive programme, delivered by Professor Linda Siegel.

In all cases, the objective is to provide high-quality training to the top educators in a region so that they can diffuse knowledge on best practice in the classroom.
