A message from Dyslexia International’s Patron,
Her Royal Highness Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein,
on the occasion of Dyslexia International’s Annual General meeting,
Friday 1st June, 2018
As Patron of Dyslexia International, it is my pleasure to ask for your support for an important three-year programme which will improve the chances of social integration for more than 700 million people with dyslexia across the world.
Without understanding and support, dyslexic learners too frequently continue in a cycle of failure – at school and in getting or finding a job. Prison statistics showing a disproportionate number of illiterate dyslexic inmates illustrate the inevitable social exclusion that can follow.
Now, in consultative partnership with UNESCO, Dyslexia International is in a position to open up discussions across the world, and to see practical measures taken that will increase the life chances of a vulnerable sector whose hidden handicaps are still not widely recognized or catered for,
With your partnership and support a dynamic dialogue can be created between ministries of education, academic researchers, dyslexic learners and their mentors.
Please take this opportunity to become a partner and to create a better world through a life-changing programme.
I thank you for the interest you take in this worthwhile cause.
